Perimenopause & menopause
Perimenopause & menopause
Leaking, urgency, or pelvic heaviness that showed up around perimenopause or menopause. Pain with intercourse that's new or different than before. These changes are common, but they don't have to be permanent.
Why it happens. Hormonal shifts during perimenopause and menopause affect the tissue and muscles of the pelvic floor, which can change how your body manages continence, support, and comfort during intimacy.
What we'll do together. An individualized assessment and treatment plan built around what's changed for you, with hands-on care and a home program to support you through this stage.
A couple of quick questions.
Is this just part of getting older?
No. These changes are common, but pelvic floor PT can meaningfully help.
Do I need a referral or hormone therapy first?
No referral is needed to start, and PT can work alongside any other care you're receiving.
