First visit guide
What to expect at your first pelvic floor PT visit
Starting physical therapy for the first time can feel like a big step, especially when it involves your pelvic floor. Here's what actually happens, so there are no surprises.
What happens. We'll start with a conversation about what's going on and what you want to get back to, followed by a thorough, head-to-toe look at how your body is moving. An internal pelvic exam can be part of that assessment, but it's always your choice: never required, and only ever performed with your explicit consent.
What you don't need to do. Just come as you are, in comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring any questions you have. There's nothing else you need to do to get ready.
A couple of quick questions.
Do I need a referral?
No, you can start without one. What if I'm not comfortable with an internal exam? That's completely fine. We can make progress with external work, and nothing happens without your consent.
Ready when you are. Text me at (720) 696-0445 with your best availability, and I'll take it from there.
